The Almost 500 Horsepower 2018 Dodge Durango

The brand will be using the Chicago Auto Show to introduce their SRT alternative of its full-size Durango SUV. Dodge chief Tim Kuniskis, the man who is behind the Hellcats and the coming Demon that will be displayed ahead of the New York Auto show in April calls the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT the most powerful and fastest three-row vehicle. Most people know that Dodge stands for power and performance, this vehicle captures both of those categories with ease.

"This is what you get, when you take everything great about the Durango and combine it with the performance of the Charger SRT: a 12 second quarter mile, toy-hauling, three-row muscle car," Tim Kuniskis, head of FCA's passenger cars brands said in a statement. This vehicle will be equipped with a Hemi V-8 engine that generates 475- horsepower and 470 pound feet or torque and has a towing capacity of 8,600 pounds.

The SRT is a Dodge subbrand that is reserved for performance versions of each model. This version of the Durango comes with a wide variety of special performance features including:

  • New Brembo high-performance brakes
  • Standard eight-speed automatic transmission specially calibrated for the Dodge Durango SRT
  • SRT hood with cold-air duct and heat extractors to improve overall performance
  • SRT seven-mode drive system to adjust drive settings to maximize performance.
  • New exhuast system

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles did not release pricing for the 2018 Durango SRT, but you can expect to see these models arriving in dealerships during the fourth quarter of this year.
